2024-2025 Executive Board
President - Sarah Siano is serving her second term as the PTA President, previously serving as PTA Spiritwear Chair and Room Parent. She loves being involved in school-wide initiatives that impact our Kids’ education and school experience.
Sarah and her husband Nick have two Sycolin Salamanders in Fifth Grade and Second grade this year! In her spare time, Sarah and her family enjoy staying active by exploring Virginia sights and trails and their kids’ extracurricular activities including watching her son play baseball and her daughter who loves gymnastics.
Professionally, Sarah works full time as a Federal Account Manager for the last ten years and recently joined ServiceNow.
Vice-President - Betsy Tew is the PTA Vice President again this year. She lives in Leesburg with her husband, Ben, their two girls, and two pups. Her oldest daughter is a 5th grader, and her younger daughter is a 3rd grader this year. She is looking forward to another year with both her girls at Sycolin!
She comes from a family of educators and was a teacher at Cool Spring Elementary in Leesburg for 12 years. This gives her a unique perspective as both a parent and teacher. She looks forward to working with the Sycolin Creek community again this year!
Treasurer - Karen Jones is returning as our PTA Treasurer this school year!
Karen and her husband Ryan have a rising Seventh Grader, a rising Fifth Grader and their youngest is in Second Grade this year! Their family enjoys having Ryan's father and their dog Piper and kitten Luna live in the Sycolin Creek community!
Karen met her husband in Grad School while completing her Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering and is a project lead at MITRE Corporation.
Secretary - Anna Joachim is new to the PTA Board this year serving as the Sycolin Creek Elementary School PTA Secretary!
Anna and her husband Curtis have lived in Leesburg since 2016 and love meeting new friends in the community. They have 2 daughters, the oldest a rising first grader and their youngest starts Kindergarten this year! Anna’s daughters are active in competitive dance & gymnastics. In her spare time she loves game nights, seeking out the latest “parent hacks” to share & traveling.
Before moving to Leesburg Anna worked as a Marketing Coordinator and Accounting Manager. She’s excited to use her background to help plan fun events for the Sycolin students and families!
We as Board Members wear many hats just like our community of parents at Sycolin Creek and are here to help us be the best PTA we can be!
